Description
Shortening saws UKS 400, UKS 700 and UKS 1000 are designed for cutting both plastered and unplastered timber. They can be used for cutting dried and non-dried lumber. The material can be cut individually or in a package on the machine. The machines find their application from sawmills to e.g. Furniture production. The machine operator has the possibility to cut the material to exact dimensions on the machine using manual or pneumatic guides, or to cut out defects in the material. Material handling is facilitated by conveyors, which can be powered or non-powered. The machines are produced in left and right variants (according to the material entering the machine). It goes without saying that there are safety features that ensure the safety of work on the miter saw. The machine meets the strict requirements for work safety resulting from the relevant EC regulations and directives.
Principle of the saw
The basis of the construction is a solid welded frame, fitted with a swinging arm with a saw aggregate. The movement of the arm is ensured by a pneumatic cylinder with a continuously adjustable speed of movement into the cut. The fundamental difference between the UKS 400 cut-off saw and the UKS 700 and UKS 1000 saws is in the trajectory of the saw blade, which allows different widths of the material to be cut with the same diameter of the saw blade (see the cutting diagram below). On miter saws, two-handed control is used to start the cutting cycle. The front cover of the saw is fixed or retractable using a pneumatic cylinder (option). The top cover of the saw blade also serves as a pressure for the cut material.
Conveyors UKS shortening saws can be supplemented with several variants of conveyor systems:
- fixed tables
- roller systems (without drive), · driven roller systems

- ball tables for heavy loads, Measuring systems The total production capacity is significantly increased by the quick determination of the length of the cut material.
As an additional device, several methods of precise setting of the cut dimensions can be supplied with the miter saw:
- fixed stop – manually adjustable on the ruler of the roller conveyor
- digital stop system – with quick and accurate length selection (manual setting of each dimension)
- fully automatic NC system – computerized cut setting with automatic stop, record of produced assortments, parts lists, extraction program, barcode printer, etc. Special construction at the request of the customer, we produce shortening saws in a non-standard design intended for specific production technologies.
Other design options include:
- roller table for easier movement of especially heavy materials
- built-in belt conveyor for automatic movement of cut material
- inclined construction of the saw for cutting material with fast feed
- full covering of the machine for use in automatic lines
- “cabinet” version of the saw with safety adjustment for serial production line
- initiating a cut with a flip flop
